Role Overview
We are looking for a motivated Junior Project Manager to support our OpenForests project management activities. In this role, you will work closely with our internal teams and external clients to ensure project goals are met and client expectations are exceeded. This part-time position (2 days a week, with potential to increase over time), 100% remote, is ideal for an individual with a foundation in project management, a passion for client service, and a desire to develop their skills in a dynamic, purpose-driven environment.

OpenForests builds technology at the service of people and nature. We develop tools for forest restoration and conservation projects to manage their data, communicate their impact openly, immerse stakeholders in the place of the project, and build networks of supporters.
OpenForests offers custom forest information services and a map-based project presentation platform, explorer.land.
Key Responsabilities
- Assist in planning, executing, and monitoring projects related to sustainable forest management and digital solutions.
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables with guidance from senior team members.
- Develop basic project plans, schedules, and resource requirements.
- Monitor project progress and assist in managing timelines and deliverables.
Team Collaboration
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure project tasks are aligned with client expectations.
- Support in delegating tasks to team members and monitor task completion.
Risk & Issue Management
- Identify potential risks or issues and proactively suggest solutions.
- Escalate critical issues to senior management as necessary to maintain project continuity.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain organized project documentation, including meeting notes, status reports, and project updates.
- Prepare concise and regular progress reports for clients and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in project management, preferably within the environmental or technology sector.
- Basic knowledge of project management tools (such as Click-up, Jira, or similar).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a client-focused mindset.
- Ability to multitask and manage several projects simultaneously.
- Passionate about environmental conservation and sustainability.
