OpenForests, proud founders of explorer.land

We launched explorer.land in 2018 with a big dream: to make nature restoration projects visible, tangible, and trustworthy through an interactive map. To basically create the “Google Maps” of Nature Restoration. To give organizations a stage and build trust through transparency.

So we focused our communication around explorer.land.

And it worked!

Today, explorer.land is home to 900+ organizations and 2,000+ projects worldwide. It’s our baby, and we’re so proud of the impact it’s making.

But as we listened to our partners and engaged in countless conversations with experts, funders, and innovators, new needs emerged.

They wanted not only visibility, but also ways to track impact, analyze data, and share results transparently. So we co-created new modules like:

  • Sponsor Management
  • Impact Monitoring Dashboards
  • Geoanalytics insights
  • Integrated Interactive maps

And we noticed something important: organizations came to us not only for the platform, but for our expertise in nature restoration and technology, our co-design spirit, and ultimately, for us, the humans behind the platform. The OpenForests team

That’s why today, we are choosing to refocus our communication around OpenForests – The team and expertise behind explorer.land.

We’ll keep sharing explorer.land’s updates and success stories.

But also open up conversations: To keep building together the tools, collaborations and trust needed to serve nature and people.
