Webinar: Connecting People and Nature, 6th June 2019

Successful project communication with interactive maps, data, and multimedia.

In this webinar, organized by EUROPARC Federation, Patrick Ribeiro, CEO and Founder of OpenForests, shows how new information technologies can be used to bridge the geographical distance between people and forest projects.

Patrick will provide examples of how high-resolution drone-based imagery and forest management data can be integrated into interactive map-based communication platforms like explorer.land. He will showcase how information tools help organizations to transparently communicate the real project story and build trustful connections with stakeholders and the public.

Start of the webinar: Thursday 6th June 2019 – 15:00 CEST

Registration for the webinar: How can we use technology to enhance people´s connection to nature?

Background

Need for better communication tools

Understanding that conservation projects around the globe often lack marketing resources to properly tell their conservation stories, and lack means to show real evidence to their funders, OpenForests recently launched the explorer.land platform.

It is a map-based online platform, designed to present forest landscape projects and to communicate their activities. Unlike other social media and presentation platforms – where content is mainly shared in a timeline -, explorer.land allows all published content, like posts, photos, videos to be shown in its geographical context on top of interactive high-resolution maps.
